Permanent Publications, an independent publisher, was set up in 1990. Its mission is to publish information which encourages people to live more healthy, self-reliant and ecologically sound ways of life.
Permanent Publications is based at a former naval base on the south coast of England which is being gradually converted into The Sustainability Centre. In purpose designed offices, the company undertakes the following activities:
- The publication of a variety of books about permaculture and sustainable living
- The publication of Permaculture Magazine Solutions for Sustainable Living
- The Green Shopping Catalogue, a retail service of over books, dvds, magazines, tools and products concerned with aspects of sustainable living from organic gardening, alternative technology and agroforestry to community economics, crafts and Earth spirituality.
